Sticks and stones…..

Had rather an unpleasant encounter today. In such a big city I guess it is odd that such things don’t happen more often.

Despite it being a gorgeous day, sunshine and not too chilly, and having had a lovely time walking along the Thames. It would seem that there are people who do not like or have the inclination to let others enjoy a moment.

As I was walking along, not far from home I passed a group of fellas.  They were in no way physically threatening but as I walked past, one less than savory man asked me whether he could borrow my face for Halloween. It has been a long while since I have had anyone say such a thing to me.

It is amazing just how, so few words, can reverberate about in your head. It is true that people don’t really think or actually consider what happens to their spite once it has left them.

What also amazes me is that so few words said by someone you don’t know can undo every positive thing that someone, who you know, has said to you. I am certain that it is also common that 10 minutes after the event, all manner of witty and clever replies burst like bubbles in your head.

Although like many things….it could just be me?
